Historically and culturally, Estremadura is the richest region of Portugal.

It houses cities such as Alcobaça, Aveiro, Batalha, Caldas da Rainha, Coimbra, Fátima, Figueira the Foz, Óbidos, Leiria, Lisbon, Mafra, Nazaré, Peniche, Santarém, Sintra.
