Coming from Lisbon (100km):
After you leave the airport take the direction Porto to A1 the Norte - Alverca - Porto. After approximately 16km you'll come at tollgates and take a ticket (pay attention to never take the green/white V gate, is for subscriptions only). After another 30km take Exit 5 N366 Aveiras the cima - Leiria - Rio Maior. Follow this route, which changes name after approximately 2km in IC2/N1, follow the direction to Leiria - Rio Maior. Just beyond km pole 95, turn left Chiqueda - Alcobaça - A8. At the crossing a large store called Gabimarques is located. Mere 2 km to go, passing through Covoes and turn in Lagoa do Cão the second street to your left (not at the café but the next) Then again 2nd street left and keep on driving until the end and turn right.

Coming from Porto (208km):
Follow the direction Coimbra - Leiria on the A1/IP1. Take Exit 9 Leiria - A8 - Oeste - N242 - Marinha Grande. After the tollgates take direction Lisbon- Leiria (do not take the highway A8 but go to IC2/N1). Take exit Leiria and at the roundabout follow direction Circular Interna da Leiria. You will pass Leiria and Bathalha while keep following the IC2/N1 in the direction of Rio Maior. Turn right at Chiqueda - Alcobaça - A8 at km-pole 94.8. Mere 2 km to go, passing through Covoes and turn in Lagoa do Cão the second street to your left (not at the café but the next) Then again 2nd street left and keep on driving until the end and turn right.

Public transport from Lisbon:
By train from Lisbon is a long travel with a number of stops and track changes. But if you have enough time it is worth it. For the timetable you can consult the Portuguese train: www.cp.pt (also in English).

The bus from Lisbon is faster than the train. They maintain a direct connection from Sete Rios in Lisbon to Alcobaça. For details see: www.redeexpressos.pt. It is advised to take a taxi from the airport to the Sete Rios bus station.
